Sunday Seven

It's finally, officially 2017!

I'm not really one for resolutions,  but I do have a few goals for myself this year, particularly when it comes to photographs. Over the past couple of years,  I feel like I've become lazy. I shoot for clients,  but I seldom shoot for myself. Last year I have so few pictures of my own life and those I love, and I want to be able to remember what my life was like this season. In the last two years, I've lived in 4 apartments, strengthened a number of friendships, been on countless road trips, and had my fair share of health issues and other trials. It's so easy to forget the things I think I'll remember, but the past couple of years have been a blur. Some things stick in my brain for no apparent reason,  but often times the things I want to remember: the joys, the struggles, and the way the Lord provides for me, get fuzzy as time passes.

So many other photographers attempt to remedy this by starting a project 365, taking a photo a day. If I'm honest with myself, I'm not disciplined enough to do anything that's not already part of my routine every day.

So instead,  I have an idea: 7 photos a week. I realize this may seem like the same thing to many, but this gives me the flexibility I need. I don't have to shoot every single day. My goal is to round up 7 photos of different subjects every week. They'll be published here, as the Sunday Seven.

I hope the you'll enjoy the Sunday Seven, and I hope that you'll sart to see the beauty of the simple everyday things in your own life.

If you care to join me, grab your phone, your camera, or whatever you've got and share your pictures. The perfect parts, and the imperfect ones. I'd love to see the bits of your everyday,  whether its a messy house that just withstood a toddler tornado, your family making a batch of pancakes,  or even your cat. Take the photo and share it on Facebook or instagram with the hashtag #SundaySeven.

4 times in 2017 I'll be choosing a #SundaySeven winner. Their photo will be featured on our blog, and they'll win a "Day in the life" documentary session. (More info to come!)

So join on in! Start shooting and tagging! You can use the #SundaySeven any day of the week. If you want to be entered for a chance to win, tag @kiwipic on Instagram and kiwiphoto on Facebook.  Happy documenting!
