Sunday Seven: Week Three

How was your week three? It's been a rough week over here.

Roomie C is a teacher, and this week she tragically lost a student at her school. A young man we'd been praying over for many years. He was loved by many staff, students, and even strangers. There is so much hurt and heartache over this lovely young man who passed away this week.

My friend L, who has been in the hospital since the end of week 1 is still there. She made progress early in the week, then slipped into a coma. She has moments of clarity, but then becomes unaware again. Doctors have run test after test, and they all come back clean and normal. Her body and brain are healthy, her pneumonia has healed, and they can find no reason for the coma. This week has been one of intense prayer and trusting the Lord for miraculous things. It's also been a week of anxiety and fighting a battle against spiritual warfare..

So this week, there's a hodgepodge of images. You'll see a few of Chicadee and our adventures this week at the downtown library and Aquarium Adventures, a fun coffee cup from my haircut at Virtue Vegan Salon, my desk, and a self portrait from Friday, a day that provided a mega panic attack and a lot of fatigue.

Here's to the grace and provision of the one who carried me through this week. To him alone be the glory.

Here are my images, in semi-chronological order:

I love going to Virtue Vegan Salon for my haircuts. It's a little bit of a luxury, and something I look forward to doing. Hannah , my awesome stylist, gives the best shampoos in the world. I always leave feeling pretty and smelling delicious. As an added bonus, Virtue has Crimson Cup coffee and an array of fun mugs. This bagel one felt extra special. If you're looking for a great place to get a haircut in Columbus, check them out!

Chicadee and I love libraries, and Columbus has one of the best library systems. So many fun things to do and story times to go to. We explored the newly remodeled Downtown branch this week. It had amazing light and super fun curvy benches to climb. What more could a couple of gals want? (Not much, but the also have a stellar play area, amazingly organized board books, a fun fish tank, and super cool old and new mix of architecture.)

This feels like cheating, because I have 3 super fun images from Aquarium Adventures , and I'm using all of them in my #SundaySeven. This place is insanely cool. Lets just say the turtles were a big hit!

There was an incredibly cool touch pool (which we didn't touch, because fish don't like little kid germs...) Rocks went all the way around, and Chicadee was intrigued tyring to figure out what was inside.

This is what was inside the touch pool! Among other really cool touchable critters, this starfish won my heart. I also love the little blue fishy photobomber.

Friday morning, fighting anxiety and fatigue. This is me, my trusty waterbottle, and a few things on Chica's table. She was eating breakfast (Yay, cereal and yogurt!). Nothing in this picture was rearranged or staged. This was my natural position, Chica's clothes for the day not so neatly folded, her water bottle and bowl in the distance, a blurry candle and Chapstick in the foreground.  I set my camera on an interval timer to take a couple pictures every minute for a few minutes, but then I forgot about the camera and went on with my morning. My challenge to you this week, (especially you mamas and caregivers out there!) is to get in the frame, even if you're feeling imperfect and tired. The hard days come, but they never stay forever. It's good to be able to look back on photos of hard days and see how faithfully the Lord has brought you through.

This is my desk. It's located in the loft of our house, and roomie A's desk sits nearby. The crazy slanted attic walls make a perfect place to hang some of my favorite photos of friends and some of my artwork. As always my water bottle is at the ready. If I'm honest, I took this picture mostly because I only had 6 for the week. But as I look at it, I think it will be fun to remember the details of this office one day. The wonky blind, my teapot brought back from Central Asia, the phone that I was using to watch Friends while I worked; the two green bins bought in an attempt to organize that actually hold a random hodgepodge of bills, coupons, letters, an editing tablet, and some balloons; neatly ordered pens, the candle, the stapler, my teeth mold, and the tiny speaker. What you don't see is a coloring book, my camera bag, an empty Dunkin cup, some of roomie A's pillows, and part of her new desk (that I cut my foot on twice tonight), all on the floor.
